Department of Africana Studies Welcomes Molefi Kete Asante, October 5

The Dietrich School's Department of Africana Studies presents a lecture with Molefi Kete Asante, Professor and Chair, Department of Africology and African American Studies at Temple University, on Thursday, October 5, at 6:15 p.m. in the Frick Fine Arts Auditorium. His talk is titled “Revolutionary Pedagogy: An Africological Counterpoint to Cultural Injustice.” Dr. Asante is one of the most widely published contemporary scholars, having written more than 70 books and 500 articles. Founder of the Journal of Black Studies, he is recognized for his pioneering work in the area of Africana studies, Afrocentricity, and intercultural communication. Dr. Asante holds more than 100 awards for scholarship and teaching, including the Fulbright as well as honorary doctorate degrees from three universities.
