The Department of Art and Architecture has been awarded a $500,000 grant from the Mellon Foundation to support its “Reparative Histories of Art and Architecture” initiative. The initiative aims to reexamine public monuments to amplify underrepresented voices in art and advance research at the intersection of art, history, and social justice. Kirk Savage, a William S. Dietrich II Professor in the department, was interviewed by WESA about the research they are working on.
