Mark J. Pastin, PhD, founder and president of the Council of Ethical Organizations, has advised major corporations and governments on significant ethics and compliance issues since 1973. In addition to his experience as an ethics and compliance advisor, Pastin has served as a member of the faculty and administrator at universities including Indiana University, the University of Michigan and Johns Hopkins. The Council is a non-profit organization dedicated to practical approaches to ethics and compliance issues. The Health Ethics Trust is one of the Council’s well known operating entities.
Pastin received his B.A. (summa cum laude) from the Dietrich School and his Ph.D. from Harvard University (Lewis Award). Prior to serving as President of the Council, he served as Professor of Management and Director of the Lincoln Center for Ethics at Arizona State University where he is currently Professor of Management Emeritus. In his academic role, Pastin authored numerous peer reviewed articles and several books. He has served on several corporate boards and currently serves on five such boards.
