Kamesha Spates was a panelist at the 2025 Engagement in the Black Community: A Virtual NAADC Summit

On February 6, Kamesha Spates, the William S. Dietrich II Chair and associate professor in the Department of Africana Studies at the Dietrich School served as an invited panelist in the 2025 Engagement in the Black Community: A Virtual NAADC Summit. The panel was titled, Addressing and Understanding Suicide for the Black Community. It attracted nearly 700 addiction professional attendees from around the world.
Spates, PhD, is recognized for her research on US race relations and anti-black racism, mental health, suicide, and trauma, and race and gender-based stressors. To see more about the event, you can visit their website.
