Nominate a Social Justice Leader for the Iris Marion Young Award

The Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies Program, with support from the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs, invites nominations of any member of the University of Pittsburgh staff, faculty, graduate or undergraduate student community who works to promote social justice and democracy. This award honors philosopher, social theorist, and former Pitt faculty member Iris Marion Young. To nominate a candidate, please complete this form or e-mail your nomination to committee chair Anne Marie Toccket at ant53@pitt.edu. Please include your name and contact information, the nominee’s name and contact information and two to three sentences explaining how your nominee promotes social justice. Nominations must be received by Friday, October 6. The Iris Marion Young Awards will be presented at a ceremony on Wednesday, November 15, from 5-7 p.m. at the O’Hara Student Center.
