Pitt Men’s Soccer Honors 10 Dietrich School Faculty as “Most Valuable Professors”

Dietrich School Faculty Invited by Student-Athletes to Attend Pitt Men’s Soccer Match

Ten faculty members from the Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh were invited by Pitt men’s soccer student-athletes to attend their match against Howard at Ambrose Urbanic Field on Wednesday, Oct. 2.

The “Most Valuable Professors” promotion called for the student-athletes to invite their favorite faculty members to attend the match. Faculty were welcomed onto the pitch to take celebratory photos with the team following the match, which the Panthers won, 8-1.

  • Ben Kubacki, Department of Linguistics – nominated by Miguel Bertran
  • Roberta Mendonca De Carvalho, Urban Studies Program – nominated by Massimo Murania
  • Jeremiah Morgan, Department of Mathematics – nominated by Niklas Soerensen
  • Bob O’Mara, Department of Mathematics – nominated by Lasse Dahl
  • Gerald Shuster, Department of Communications – nominated by Dani Gamboa

The Pitt men’s soccer team (9-1-0, 4-0-0 ACC) is ranked No. 1 in the nation by the United Soccer Coaches Poll.
