Twenty-four University of Pittsburgh researchers have been named to this year’s Highly Cited Researchers list, an annual compilation of researchers whose work has made a significant impact across a broad range of disciplines.
Last year, 23 Pitt researchers were included.
The list, published by the data and analytics company Clarivate, highlights the small number of researchers who have authored papers which rank in the top 1% by citation in the Web of Science, Clarivate’s collection of journal citations, over the past decade. Also considered is the breadth of research areas in which an author’s paper has been cited.
“The Highly Cited Researchers list identifies and celebrates exceptional individual researchers whose significant and broad influence in their fields translates to impact in their research community,” said David Pendlebury, head of research analysis at the Institute for Scientific Information at Clarivate.
This year, Clarivate recognized 6,636 researchers from 59 countries and regions. The United States leads with 2,507 researchers, followed by Mainland China with 1,405 and the United Kingdom with 563.
This year this list includes two Dietrich School Faculty Members:
- Kirk Erickson, Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences
-
Ming-Te Wang, Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences
