Gillian Kuchma
SSD- Department of History
Departmental Coordinator
Gilly has been in the division for a little more then a year now. In her short time here, she has made the office lobby space more inviting. Allowing students to stop by and work within the department. This has caused a rippled effect of faculty, who are now joining student in the lobby for discussion and banter. Gilly understands that navigating University policies and procedure can be difficult. She takes on these tasks to help elevate the stress from faculty. Making their request and experiences a positive one. She is positive and works hard to ensure all inquires and requests are meet to the best of her ability. Gilly is a huge asset to the department and the division!
Micky Krenek
Theater Arts
Department Coordinator Theater Arts
Absolutely killing it, holding Theater together and a welcoming presence in the dept.
Evan Zajdel
HAA
Dept Administrator HAA
Promotes a culture of community and integrity in the FRICK admin office.
Darlene Lanz
Chemistry
Fiscal Manager
Everyone who works with Darlene, knows that she is a "go-to" type of person who will always get the job done. She is smart, organized and resourceful and if she doesn't know the answer, she will find it on her own or consult her solid, expansive Pitt network. She won't leave you hanging and will always follow through and get back to you. You will frequently find a list near by. She knows ever-changing policy better than anyone I know and she sticks to it. Beyond her impressive knowledge and successfully executing her tasks, she is so easy to work with - friendly, pleasant, genuine and helpful. She has a welcoming nature that puts people at ease (even when she is saying, "no, we can't do that"). All of her efforts are fueled by her desire to serve the University while providing excellent customer service to faculty, staff and students. The Chemistry department is lucky to have Darlene steering their finances. Well done, Darlene!
Carrie Waters
Support Services Natural Science
Business Coordinator
Carrie is one of the most organized and methodical human beings you will ever meet. She handles a lot of unrelated financial projects and is enthusiastic about new assignments. She can easily switch gears and I am impressed how she stays on top of the unique needs of all the tasks she needs to keep track of. Add to that, she is kind and friendly and is always thinking about how best to help the wide variety of folks that she works with. Thank you Carrie for all that you do!
Amanda Quain
Interdisciplinary Group / Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies
Program Department Coordinator
Amanda has been invaluable in providing all types of support to GSWS this spring, speaking to values of Inclusion, Communication, Collaboration, Integrity, and nearly everything else. Most notably, she near-singlehandedly planned and oversaw a large conference on childhood, gender, play, and culture this month, directing dozens of participants and managing numerous logistics from morning through evening. After the Director's untimely passing in early March, Amanda has been critical in making sure GSWS programming, administration, and its mission have continued to move forward. In a field and among scholars constantly under attack from this government, this resilience is needed now more than ever.
Linda Huchber
Dietirch IT
Payroll Finance Manager
There are infinite examples of Linda's determination to provide the most accurate data available; she will chase down every piece of questionable data until she understands it. Then she turns all of the data into information and provides narrative to the results. The latest example being a report she produced for PAE which earned high praise from that group. Always a stellar employee.
Dana Stav
Staff Support Humanities (English)
Academic Operations Manager
I would like to recognize Dana Stav for her collaboration on a time sensitive, pressure situation where she responded with grace and diplomacy. This was a perfect example of how to stay calm and collect information before reacting. Way to go Dana!
Heidi Thomas
Advising Center
Academic Advisor
Heidi is a total Roc Star! She's a wealth of knowledge and is always one of the first to come to the rescue with answers or help with sometimes very specific or nuanced questions. We are so lucky to have her on our team!
Lily Morar
Dean's Office
Event Manager
Despite being new to these events, Lily collaborated with staff from PAE to plan and coordinate the BOV meeting and the Bellet Award dinner. Both events were a success thanks to Lily's attention to detail and organization!
Emma Wallace-Potts
Dean's Office
Administrative Coordinator
Emma helped to guide the planning of the BOV event. She met with a small group of us, who were all new to the planning/logistics of this event, and kept us all on task with reminders and deadlines.
James Scott
TRIO SSS
Academic Advisor
INNOVATION: While James embodies all of the Leadership Values, the ones that stand out to me are Innovation and Collaboration. James has been working with the TRIO SSS program for 20 years, but he continues to develop new ideas for activities, programs, and resources that address the ever-changing needs of our students. When you see James appear in your doorway, you know that you are about to engage in a deep, well-thought-out conversation about the pros and cons of the latest initiative that he has developed in the best interest of our students. Many times, the following day after a meeting when we thought we had completely ironed out the agenda for an event, James comes in and says, "I was thinking..." and you then know that the agenda really was not finished as you thought it was. I thought I knew what collaboration was, but I quickly learned that I did NOT know the whole scope of the word until I came to SSS. James is most certainly a one-of-a-kind "Roc Star."
Lori Rossi
TRIO SSS
Academic Advisor
While Lori embodies all of the Leadership Values, the ones that stand out most to me are Respect, Innovation, and Collaboration. Lori epitomizes the words "team player." Her commitment to excellence in all that we do is evident. Because she has served in an administrative role before, Lori has a unique empathy for perceiving what is going wrong in a situation and/or what is needed, and she quickly steps in to take care of the issue whether it involves academic advising or cleaning up after an event. If she is not familiar with something needed to make an event or lesson the best it can be, she takes the time to research it, test it, and figure it out. The PowerPoint presentations that we use in our classes are creative and engaging thanks to Lori. Recently, we had a dice game opening activity planned for a class, and when viewing the image she had selected to depict the activity on the PowerPoint, I made the stray comment, "wouldn't it be neat if the dice rolled into the screen?" Sure enough...when I was showing that slide in class, here came the dice rolling into the screen! The entire class and I were amazed. We are so lucky to have Lori on our team...she is definitely a "Roc Star" in SSS and beyond.
Thomas Troyan
TRIO SSS
Administrative Assistant
The Leadership Values that shine in Thomas are Respect and Communication. From the time that Thomas arrived at SSS, they mentioned to me that they like to ask questions. They were not lying! As a federal grant director, I greatly appreciate the fact that Thomas is thoughtful, methodical, and cares enough to ask questions before proceeding into a situation that could be detrimental to our grant's well-being. Thomas is loyal and extremely dedicated to ensuring that the SSS students feel welcomed in our space. It is not uncommon to come in from a meeting and find Thomas engaged in conversation with one of our students about a book or movie that both recently experienced. Thomas respects all people regardless of how different they may be from Thomas. For these reasons and more, including an engaging sense of humor and accompanying infectious laugh, Thomas is most definitely a Roc Star.
Brittany Monaghan
TRIO SSS
Assistant Director
The Leadership Values that stand out in Brittany are Respect and Inclusion. Last summer, we were in a stressful situation because we found out at the last minute that we had to write the grant in a mere 45 days, which is unprecedented. In addition to offering to help in whatever ways she could, Brittany engaged the office in a "Chicken Tour" of Oakland, where she planned lunches in which the group of us trekked to all of the different establishments in Oakland that served chicken. (She also made sure there were options for our one vegetarian in the group.) We had so much fun - it was a great distraction from the stress of grant (and for me, dissertation) writing. Brittany has a razor-sharp sense of humor and keeps us all on our toes...and in our laughter. She is definitely a Roc Star!!
Emma Wallace-Potts (Administrative Coordinators), Brin Sharrar (Administrative Coordinators), Lily Morar (Events Manager)
Dean's Office
Emma, Brin, and Lily are not just incredible coworkers—they are true friends who consistently go above and beyond to support me, especially during life’s most challenging moments. Recently, I experienced the heartbreaking loss of a beloved family member and had to take time away to be with my family and attend his funeral. During this difficult time, Emma, Brin, and Lily stepped in without hesitation, not only ensuring that everything in the office ran smoothly but also offering unwavering emotional support.
Their kindness knew no bounds—they provided shoulders to lean on, shared heartfelt words of comfort, and even took the time to write thoughtful condolence cards. Their compassion, generosity, and genuine care meant the world to me, and I feel truly blessed to work alongside such amazing people.
A heartfelt thank you to Lily, Emma, and Brin—you deserve to be recognized for the incredible colleagues and friends that you are! - February 2025 ROC STARS

Dawna Kasper
A&S - Central Support Services
Sponsored Projects Administrator
In the Sponsored Projects Area of the Arts and Sciences we recently had a few new staff members join the team as well as a transition in which department(s) a particular staff member serves. Dawna previously oversaw the post-award administration for the Chemistry Department, which transitioned to me and a new staff member Dani. Dawna has made herself "more than" available for any and all questions and has taken her time in explaining "why" certain aspects are done in a particular order, in which they are completed. Dawna has reached out to all the Chemistry faculty and informed them on the transition and to be patient while we bring ourselves up to speed, while reassuring them that things will be fine and made it clear to all the Chemistry Faculty that she will make herself available for any questions or meetings, but please run them through us and not directly to her. I believe this covers the sentence of two on Dawna being a RocStar. However, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have additional questions or need further justification and I will be happy to provide it. I'm sure when we are finished you will agree with me that Dawna truly deserves the recognition of a RocStar !!
Sarah Elizabeth Baumann
Department of English
Administrative Officer
Sarah Elizabeth is consistently one of the most friendly, helpful, even-tempered people I work with. This is saying a lot because our interactions often involve a problem that we're both trying to resolve. She is appreciative and kind and she always takes the time to say thank you. Sarah Elizabeth does a wonderful job in a very challenging role and we are so lucky to have her!
Taylor Pipkin
Humanties Team
Assistant Director - Events Services
I first met Taylor when she served on the centralized hiring committee. She quickly became someone I could rely on and brought unique insights to the committee. Since then, she has become a trusted colleague whenever I have questions about event planning. I call her the Events Queen and trust me when I tell you the crown fits. Taylor is extremely busy because she is an expert, however she is always willing to lend a hand and share tips with others. I marvel at Taylor's professionalism, collegiality, and ability to multitask.
Lisa Kubick
Graduate Studies
Director of Graduate Student Admissions
Lisa has gone above and beyond to ensure graduate admissions and communication processes run smoothly during recent complex transitions, often staying late and responding during off-hours to address urgent needs. Her dedication, problem-solving skills, steady leadership, and commitment to supporting programs and students have kept critical operations on track. She has navigated evolving guidance with sensitivity and professionalism, adapting quickly to changing circumstances while providing clear and timely information.
Kennedy Ziemba
Dean’s Office
Administrative Coordinator
I want to shout out Kennedy Ziemba for truly going above and beyond her daily job duties and driving me to the hospital for a migraine episode and waiting with me until my fiancé showed up. Kennedy is a true ROC Star and such a joy to work with!
Hannah Fluharty
Communications
Communications Manager
Hannah did an excellent job creating updated marketing materials for Dietrich student ambassador recruitment! She created multiple, diverse marketing assets that really helped to jump start our application cycle. Her thorough attention to detail, timely communication, and problem-solving was greatly appreciated. Within a few weeks, we already have a large, excellent pool of students with a few weeks left until the application closes. I am grateful for her collaboration!!
Carly Petree
Communications
Communications Manager
I always appreciate working with Carly for her innovative ideas for how to market opportunities and events on social media, and the high level of collaboration she encourages as well. She put together a plan for social media for our ambassador recruitment cycle, and welcomed ideas from myself and our team of ambassadors. She followed up to ask if there was more she could do to help to encourage students to apply to our position. It's always nice when people circle back around and check in to see if more collaboration is helpful to reach your goals.
Heather Mattson
College of General Studies
Academic Advisor
Heather is an an integral part of the CGS Academic Advising team! She is deeply committed to excellence in all she does, and offers thoughtful contributions to our team. She cares deeply about her students, and she always seeks to meet their needs to the best of her ability. I love how she always works to go above and beyond and she is a wonderful advocate for their needs. I think she is very deserving of a ROC Star award!
Angie King
College of General Studies
Administrative Coordinator
Angie King is a ray of absolute sunshine! She is so kind, collaborative, and always wants the best for the students in CGS. I love to share stories and updates with her, she always has a word of encouragement to share. Angie's love for what she does and who she serves is absolutely evident, and she is an integral part of the CGS academic programming team. She is more than deserving of being recognized as the ROC star she is!
Mary Towle
Chemistry
Administrative Assistant
When I think of the word phenomenal, I think of Mary. Her poise and organizational skills are one to be studied. Her talent when it comes to constructing calendars, posters, flyers, tracking spreadsheets, and SOPs keeps us all on the same page and fills our department with vibrant pop and color. In every project, Mary maintains clear, concise, and informative lines of communication from start to finish. She is an absolute joy to have around the office, caring and lovely to everyone she meets, and I am grateful to have watched her grow into a confident, creative, and capable professional as her then colleague, now as her supervisor, and as a friend. Faculty have stopped in our office to sing praises of Mary for her tenacity to go above and beyond. She is a true gem and deserves more than anyone to be recognized and appreciated for her dedication to Pitt and the Department of Chemistry. Mary is a one-of-a-kind ROC Star!
Lauren Franczak
Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences
Academic Advisor
Lauren is an incredible advisor and highly respected colleague. She is kind, highly knowledgeable and makes working at the Advising Center such a pleasure. She is thorough and efficient and cares deeply about her students and empowering them on their academic journeys. Pitt is lucky to have her.
George Halter
Dietrich School, Office of the Dean
Facilities Support Manager
George is always a delight to interact with, but until today, I never got to see how amazing he is at his job. After leaving my keys at home, I was unable to access my laptop, which was locked inside my office credenza. George came over from another building, arriving within minutes of my S.O.S. call. He was able to not only open the credenza but did so in a way that preserved the lock so I could continue using it. He gracefully and graciously handled the interruption in his day, never once making me feel stupid about my mistake. Hopefully, I won't need George to intervene on my behalf again, but I am certain that if I ever do need to call on him, he will be just as wonderful to work with as he was this morning. THANK YOU GEORGE!
Jeremy Seghers
Arts
Patron and Rental Services Manager
Jeremy recently assisted me with purchasing tickets to Morning Reckoning for a staff engagement event. I had never purchsed tickets for a group before, and Jeremy was patient and kind as he explained the process to me. He was there at the show checking in guests, and he greeted me with a big smile. Jeremy is a valuable asset to the Arts team, and if you haven't checked out one of the Pitt Stages shows yet you should definitely contact him to find out how!
Rachel Stalker
Communications and Undergraduate Recruitment
Manager of Recruitment Programming
Rachel is a hero! When a student came into the office and notified her that a trash can on the outside Posvar Patio was on fire, Rachel called Pitt Police and used a fire extinguisher to put out the fire. Talk about going above and beyond!
Marta Zeamanuel
Film Studies
Program and Academic Coordinator
Marta is new to the Pitt community, but has made herself invaluable in the FMST program. She is kind and patient and has been a pleasure to work with.
Nic Sauter
Theatre Arts
Theatre Marketing and Engagement Specialist
Nic has come in to the theatre arts team with such a strong background that the presence of this department and the social media upgrade has been spoken about and recognized by faculty, staff, and students alike. What I really want to recognize here is her collaboration and work with staff and faculty. When a recent conflict arose over some communications details, Nic handled it with professionalism and determination - which truly helped to get to the route of the issue and look to help prevent future communications from getting delayed or disrupted because of multiple input on the challenges.
Jacki Weaver and Patricia Decker
Sponsored Projects Administration
Grant Writers
It has been just over a year since Dean Leibovich approved the hiring of two grant writers to support the Dietrich School’s researchers in identifying and securing external grant funding. And while, true to their official titles, Jacki and Patricia spend much of their time assisting researchers in writing grant proposals (they’ve worked on over 100 projects so far!), they have done so much more in support of the Dietrich School’s research enterprise. Over the summer, they facilitated a three-part workshop on NIH pre-doctoral fellowships, and we’ve already seen very encouraging results from that effort. They have also developed useful resources for NSF Doctoral Dissertation Improvement Grants and the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program. They were included as part of the Mathematics Department’s new graduate student orientation, and they co-presented a Pre-Tenure Grant Writing Workshop with Associate Dean for Research and Faculty Recruitment, Hannah Johnson. Most recently, they have again collaborated Dean Johnson on Funding Fridays, a new series of informational sessions created to share guidance and funding opportunities and answer common questions relating to applying for external research funding. Since the grant writers were newly created positions, I didn’t know how they would be received or what sort of an impact they would have. Having now had the chance to work with Jacki and Patricia over an extended period, I have been beyond impressed with their abilities. They go out of their way to accommodate the researchers that they support, in some cases providing proofreading and edits on less than 24 hours’ notice, and the feedback that I’ve received from the faculty who have worked with them has been universally positive. Their enthusiasm for their work is apparent from the moment you meet them, and I feel very lucky to have them in our group.
Sponsored Projects Administration
- Pre-Award: Robert Barnhart, Mark Bullock, Matt Wagner
- Post-Award: Patrick Carr, Terry Coyne, MacKenzie Gesek, Dawna Kasper, Carolyn Mazzella, Dani Miller, Alicia Procacina, David Thomas
- Research Data Coordinators: Fionnuala McGarry, Eric Sherlock
- Leadership Team: Marcie Conrad, Vivian Lin, Jason Rosol
Starting with the hiring of four new staff positions in the Fall of 2024, the SPA team has undergone a complete reorganization. Everyone has had the departments and faculty that they work with changed, creating a considerable amount of additional work, both in getting familiar with the new accounts and faculty that they would be taking on, as well as preparing their current portfolios to be transferred to others. And our most recently hired staff have had to work through this transition on top of learning all of the processes, policies, and systems that are new to them since coming to Pitt. The transitioning of departmental workloads was particularly onerous on the post-award side, where accounts totaling in the millions of dollars were shifted between administrators, requiring many hours of meetings to make the transition as smooth as possible for the affected faculty. The research data coordinators, meanwhile, have been busy with cross-training and developing effective ways to allocate the multitude of tasks that they are responsible for. And throughout this process, the leadership team has worked together to provide critical guidance, training, and support. Across the entire group this has been a brilliantly executed team effort, and I could not be prouder of everyone involved.

J.C. Bardzil
Theater Scenic Shop
Technical Director
J.C. has helped me update and evolve every theater space in the Theater department.
John Knox, III
Dietrich School Dean's Office, IT/Data Team
Senior Systems Administrator
John took time out of what I know is a very busy schedule to meet with me and provide detailed instructions on transferring all of my files to the Cloud. He was, as always, patient and kind, and he answered every question, even encouraging me to follow up if I thought of anything later. The meeting with John proved to be even more invaluable when, a few weeks after our meeting, my laptop died. If it hadn't been for John, all of the files I had on my desktop would have been lost. John's ability to make what felt like an intimidating process very straightforward and easy is a real gift, and I'm grateful for all of his help.
Krista Stokes
CGS Advising
Assistant Director of the Dietrich School Advising Center and CGS
Krista has been an incredible colleague to work with. She carries a wealth of institutional knowledge, and she supports others with patience, grace, and compassion. I have never felt shamed for not knowing something, she's just always there to help when I need it. I feel empowered to become a better advisor because I know she has my back. She works incredibly hard and deserves to be celebrated for the wonderful and selfless contributions she makes to the advising center every day.

Student Records
Office of Student Records
Lisa is one of the few responsible for teaching me the ins and outs of Student Records when I first started and even after many years, still is a person that I can go to with questions if I'm not sure how to proceed. I know that if I'm ever out of office for an extended period of time, she always has my back and will cover my responsibilities in my absence.Lisa is the go-to person for all PeopleSoft information held in the Records Office. There is not a day that goes by that our undergraduate departments, senior director, associate dean isn't asking Lisa for some information/data. Lisa is always willing to help others and learn new things like curriculog when the department doesn't have anyone to help with that. She is my wing-man for sure.
Lily Morar
Dean's School Dean's Office
DSAS Events Manager
I'm nominating my Dean's Office colleague, Lily Morar, because she volunteered to assist me with 2 engagement events that were not part of her duties as Events Manager. Lily seamlessly took room reservations and facilities requests off my plate...honestly my least favorite parts of planning engagement activities. And when there was a problem with the table setup at one of the events, Lily identified it and it was rectified before the event began. Lifesaver! The events would not have been successful without Lily's vision and execution. I'm so thankful for her collegiality and willingness to share her expertise. Lily is a perfect example of the types of people that make the Dietrich School a special place to work. Lily's work exemplifies our leadership value of collaboration and communication--she is incredibly helpful to our entire team in making our event dreams come to life. She also always keeps an eye toward inclusion, which I appreciate greatly. Lily is definitely a ROC Star!Laura McClain

Hadley Armstrong
Theatre Arts
Theatrical Production Director
Hadley is within her first full year in the production director role with theatre arts, although from her professional communication and immeasurable patience you would believe she has a long history with this department. She balances the needs of multiple competing entities - from demanding rental company contacts to working with the KCACTF collaborators, her approach is always to hear the needs of the people and to address the issues with input of all affected people. She works to ensure that areas meet when possible to work out and resolve challenges as those arise, putting priority on communication and needs of the students, department, and missions.Damian Hall
Advising Center
Academic Advisor
Damian is a champion for student persistence, balancing reality checks with encouragement. As one student recently shared: "Throughout all my years of academics I have never felt so comfortable talking to a faculty member, as I did with Damian. He’s super down to earth and gets me excited to learn and continue my future here at Pitt."Amanda Raczkowski
Arts Departments - Fiscal Team
Business Coordinator
Amanda transitioned to a business coordinator within the last year at Pitt and has been working primarily remotely since that time. Her efforts in collaboration with the Arts Team across multiple departments to ensure efficiency of processes, updates to old (or outdated) workflows, and communication across departments have created a strong environment for all business operations. Amanda also worked with the AOM to receive deliveries and ensure distribution for the start of class once it was clear a better strategy needed to be in place. Overall, her efforts with making this collaborative space work better for all have been a large relief to the arts areas. - November 2024 ROC STARS

I'm so grateful for her partnership--she's one of my favorite collaborators. And she is truly a ROC Star.Z Taylor

Z has worked hard over the last year to really learn the culture of two very different departments in which she supports. It has been a bumpy road, but she has never given up. This month has felt like a real success of all of her hard efforts over the year. Z also goes above and beyond to help both faculty and staff.Stacey Williard
Staff Personnel
Staff Hiring and Engagement Manager
I am nominating Stacey this month as Roc Star for her tireless work on creating a welcoming and fun environment for staff to connect outside of meetings and everyday interactions. Her inclusion and collaboration skills and efforts know no bounds! On top of everything else she does, she spent a lot of time putting together the Friendsgiving staff get together, which was a great success! We had even more participation from a diverse pool of staff from across the school than last year, and the event continues to evolve. We may need to find a bigger space next year because of this year's turnout! I have the utmost respect for Stacey's commitment to her colleagues and this school, and everything she is willing to do for folks to have affinity for who they work with and where they work.Stacey played an integral role in helping me hire outstanding staff members for my office, she knows everyone and everything related to Pitt, I can always count on her when I need something, and she makes things happen. Cheers, Stacey!

I can't think of a better person than Rachel to serve as the supervisor of our Student Ambassadors. While she absolutely provides our students with the training, knowledge, and guidance to successfully represent the Dietrich School, she also--and even more importantly--is the kind of adult role model every young person should have in their lives. She always acts with integrity, professionalism, and compassion. She genuinely cares about these students and their lives--attending their events, serving as a sounding board, staying on top of their plans and goals after graduation and beyond. She is invested in a real, difference-making, and impacting way and we are lucky to have her.Michele Gavin
Geology and Environmental Science
Department Coordinator
Michele is on top of everything that is asked of her and is always willing to help and take on additional duties wherever needed. With each task that she completes for the first time her thoughts are what can we do to make this better for the department and everyone involved. She is the best staff hire I have made to date!Meg Caruso
Social Sciences
Sr. Academic Administration Coordinator
Meg is always looking to be helpful and supportive, and I have so many examples of this. The most recent example was this past Friday. A student came into the her department where I sit looking for support. She had held her meeting with her advisor, but the hold was mistakenly not lifted. She needed to register for a course as spots were filling up fast. As we were unable to get ahold of the faculty advisor, I reached out to Meg for guidance. She was able to guide me through questions with the student, understanding that they had met with their advisor and needed the hold lifted. The student sent her an email while sitting in my office confirming the advising appointment, and Meg was able to lift the hold so the student could register. We also then touched base with the advisor who confirmed/apologized and all was set. I was so thankful that Meg was able to support us through this with something I was not familiar with. She is an absolute asset to our division and we are so thankful to have her.Maria Schockling

Communication/Recruitment
Undergraduate Recruitment Specialist
I'm nominating my colleague Malcolm Carrington as a Roc Star in November for his collaboration and communication. Malcolm has a unique position being split between OAFA and Dietrich, and this fall, he has increasingly had to answer a lot more questions and get a lot more information to us than ever before. I'm grateful for how quickly and happily he helps to get us essential information, anticipating needs and communicating information that we need before we ask for it. I'm also grateful to collaborate with him in event and program planning and execution on a daily basis. He not only embodies the spirit of collaboration, but puts in the work and shows kindness and collegiality in the process.Lori Bollinger
Arts Departments
Academic Operations Manager
Lori Bollinger just got out of her provisional period, but it feels like she has been here so much longer. Lori has helped to make a huge transition in the Arts possible through her collaboration with colleagues across the board. She is a clear communicator who knows when it is time to ask questions or listen to colleagues before finding solutions. We managed the onboarding for so many new roles together, while also learning much about each of the roles with whom we're working. She took every mis-step we took with a learning curve that helped me to know we are in good company. Being able to work with someone who respects each person's contributions to help find their growth goals is incredible.Lori is an incredible staff member who is a phenomenal communicator and a person of integrity. She always keeps the other arts admins informed of new changes and is always ready to reach out and find answers to whatever questions you have. Additionally, during her first 6 months she had effectively learned and performed two different jobs (a difficult task for even a seasoned employee) and did them well. She cares about the work she does and it shows.

Just this week, Daniel executed a guest alumni visit from Alaska 3000, which was initiated by a staff member who left in October.
