A faculty member with not more than two years remaining before the mandatory review for tenure may request to be temporarily transferred to appointment-stream status. Such transfer requires mutual agreement among the faculty member, the tenure committee of the department, and the Dean. This transfer can only be made under exceptional circumstances beyond the control of the faculty member.
