Sexual Assault Awareness Month Resources

April is Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month and here at the Dietrich School, we support survivors. If you or someone you know is looking for help, we have created a list of resources below.

If you would like to show your support around campus and wear a SAAM T-Shirt, you can email Carrie Benson, the Director of Sexual Violence Prevention and Education in the Office for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at carrie.benson@pitt.edu

If the situation is an emergency, please dial 911.

The Office for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion here at Pitt offers many resources for survivors of sexual assault and harassment as well as those looking to get involved on campus with awareness efforts.

There’s the Survivor’s Support Network which provides faculty, staff, and students with tools and knowledge to be able to help support survivors.

Those looking for messages of support or looking to submit a message of support can visit the Pitt Support Survivors page

The OEDI has a guide for talking about relationships, consent, and sexual violence to help foster conversations around what might otherwise be difficult topics.

If you have a concern or a question Pitt Concern Connection is here to help! You can submit anonymous questions and concerns on Pitt Concern’s website where you will be given a case number where you can check the status of your request. If you’d like to speak to someone confidentially you can call them at (800) 468-5768 or text them at (412) 903-3456.

Please note this service is not only for questions about sexual assault, but also for many ethics and compliance topics, including Title IX, workplace discrimination, the University's response to COVID-19, financial controls, and more.

There are many events still happening this month in support of SAAM, a full list can be found here.
