Diversity is a value, resource, and characteristic of the Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences. We are committed to accessing and mobilizing the full resources of a diverse society and providing our students with an educational experience that adequately prepares them for life, learning, and work in the increasingly global world they will inherit.
Our commitment operates on three distinct levels
- The Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences recruits, mentors, and supports students who reflect the diversity of our city, region, and nation.
- Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences strives to recruit and retain faculty and staff whose diversity, especially in areas of race and gender, reflects and serves our student body by providing diverse role models and offering all students an opportunity to experience a wider range of diversity.
- We continually update and strengthen our curriculum by increasing the number of courses that address issues such as class, race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, nationality, or religion in a manner that promotes understanding and provides students with knowledge and analytical skills they need to succeed.
